About Me

I provide individual therapy to adults. I am a licensed clinical social worker and International Trauma Psychologist. My work as a clinical social worker has been located largely in community mental health settings with youth, adolescents, adults, and families. The field of International Psychology enabled me to broadened my skill set thru continued exchanges of knowledge across language and context, including in western Kenya where I am the co-founder of a non governmental agency aimed toward youth and conflict analysis.

I utilize a range of clinical analyses, theories, and interventions based on your needs, experiences, and circumstances. Such approaches may include psychodynamic, family of origin, developmental, systems, or cognitive behavioral theories and related methods of intervention. It may also include education on stress and trauma responses.

I place a strong emphasis on the social, cultural, and political factors that shape your life and the life of your community and family, as well as factors that may inform the therapeutic process. I employ a client-centered, strengths-based perspective. As such, your goals in therapy guide my approach to your care. My intent is to serve as a reminder to you of your capacities and to assist you in identifying or expanding on assets that garner affirming, meaningful support and relevance to you.
