Bethany Bowater Verified Provider

Bethany Bowater has her master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling and is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC). Her practice, Waypoint Counseling, is in New Durham, New Hampshire. She is also licensed in Washington and Florida.

She offers telehealth appointments and accepts Premera Blue Cross, Aetna, and First Choice Health. Session costs include $120 for individual sessions and $150 for couples therapy. 

Working With a Diverse Clientele

 Ms. Bowater has a passion for serving military members and their families. She also enjoys working with those in the LGBTQ+ community and their parents. 

Ms. Bowater works with couples who are tired of repeating negative relationship cycles and are motivated to change. She also works with blended families and those facing divorce.

She is trained in eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), psychodynamic and attachment based therapy. Ms. Bowater believes in fostering a strong therapeutic relationship with her clients where they feel safe and connected. 

Survival Instructor in the US Air Force

Her interest in mental health started when she was a survival instructor in the US Air Force.  She taught students how to survive in any environment and utilizes some of the same strategies in her treatment. 

She named her practice Waypoint Counseling because a waypoint is “a stop along one’s journey,” when navigating the wilderness.
