Sarah Moyer

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker practicing in the State of New York and hold a Masters Degree in Social Work from Stony Brook University. In addition to general counseling, I have worked in substance abuse and mental health counseling for over six years.

As a therapist, I prioritize creating a warm and welcoming environment for clients to feel comfortable in the therapeutic process, whatever that looks like for them. I don’t shy away from working outside the box and find creativity to be an asset in meeting clients where they’re at. I am dedicated in helping my clients challenge the thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that are keeping them from living the life they want to live, while also accepting that which is out of their control. I utilize an eclectic array of therapeutic approaches, including but not limited to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Family Systems Therapy, and Holistic Therapy. I believe that some of the most successful work in therapy is done when we’re able to pull on tools and techniques from various approaches to create a truly individualized treatment plan.

I aim to create a safe space for folks to talk about hard things, so they always know they have somewhere to bring the heaviness that they might carry. I believe that there is nothing more profound than making the decision to show up and put in the work, but I also believe that none of us can do it alone. I hope to be a part of the village that it takes.
