About Me

Psychological distress does not develop in isolation. It emerges through the continuous interaction between individuals and the families, relationships, communities, and environments that shape their lives. Every person has a story influenced by far more than individual experiences alone.

My education in Community Psychology fundamentally shaped the way I understand psychological well-being. This discipline recognizes that people develop within interconnected systems operating across micro to macro levels. Family roles, relationships, schools, workplaces, neighborhoods, communities, culture, media, and broader social conditions all influence how we think, feel, relate to others, and understand ourselves. Because we develop within these environments, many of their influences become so familiar that we no longer recognize the ways they continue to shape our lives.

Throughout my career, I intentionally sought experience across the lifespan, working with children, adolescents, adults, and older adults in community, inpatient, outpatient, and skilled nursing settings. Working with individuals from Generation Alpha through the Silent Generation has reinforced that although each generation develops within a unique historical and cultural context, our fundamental needs for safety, connection, belonging, meaning, and autonomy remain remarkably consistent.

My approach to therapy is grounded in understanding both the individual and the systems that have shaped their development. Together, we explore not only what you are experiencing today, but also the experiences, relationships, and environments that have contributed to those patterns. My goal is to help you better understand yourself, recognize patterns that may no longer serve you, strengthen your sense of agency, and make intentional choices aligned with the life you want to create.

I believe psychotherapy begins with two equally important questions: What is happening within you? and What has happened around you that has become part of your internal psychological world? The most influential systems in our lives are often the least visible because we developed within them.
