About Me

Dr. Kyana earned her Doctorate in Marriage and Family Therapy from Nova Southeastern University in May 2022 and is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). She also holds a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Psychology with a Minor in Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies.

Dr. Kyana has experience working with diverse populations, including youth in diversion programs, individuals impacted by domestic violence, and members of the homeless community. She has provided individual, couples, family, and group therapy, helping clients strengthen relationships, develop emotional insight, and foster personal growth.

Throughout her professional journey, Dr. Kyana has integrated various therapeutic models such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Brief Strategic Family Therapy (BSFT), play therapy, the empowerment model, and filial therapy. She has also facilitated psychoeducational groups focused on parenting and DBT skills. In addition, she has received specialized training in Domestic Violence Core Competency, DBT, and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).

Grounded in family systems, person-centered, narrative, and solution-focused approaches, Dr. Kyana views therapy as a collaborative journey. She believes that each person has a unique story and purpose, often shaped by their life experiences and family history. Her role as a therapist is to guide and empower clients as they navigate their path toward healing, growth, and fulfillment.
