Andrew Walker, DNP, APRN, PMHNP BC, is a board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner offering telehealth psychiatry and psychotherapy to adults across Utah through Lagom Psychiatry. 

He provides medication management and individual therapy for trauma, PTSD, grief, anxiety, depression and recovery from sexual abuse, with affirming care for men, LGBTQ+ clients and veterans. 

Rooted in the Swedish concept of “lagom,” or balance, his approach centers collaboration, unconditional positive regard and the belief that mental illness does not define who you are.

Trauma Informed Psychiatry and Depth Psychotherapy

Andrew’s core focus is integrated trauma care, blending psychiatric medication management with depth oriented psychotherapy in one practice. 

With doctoral training from the University of Utah and specialized experience through the VA and Yale, he brings particular expertise to working with male survivors of sexual abuse and assault, complex trauma and grief.

Sessions are primarily informed by a psychodynamic and object relations lens, woven with ACT, CBT, DBT, attachment based work and mindful self compassion. Together, you’ll explore root patterns, intrusive thoughts and identity questions while building practical tools for safety, regulation and lasting change.

Affirming Care for Identity, Faith and Life Transitions

Andrew also supports clients navigating self esteem, men’s issues, faith crises and the reconciliation of spirituality with sexuality or gender identity. As a member of the LGBTQ 

Affirmative Psychotherapist Guild of Utah, he offers a safe space for sexual and gender minority clients to explore identity, set boundaries and reconnect with direction.

Getting Started With Lagom Psychiatry

Andrew sees adult clients statewide in Utah via secure, HIPAA compliant telehealth, with weekend appointments available by request.

He is in network with Aetna, PEHP, Regence/BCBS, Select Health and United Healthcare and offers self pay options with superbills for out of network reimbursement.
