About Me

If you’re here, I commend you because it means you have done a lot of research to find the right psychologist for you. I invite you to contact me to schedule a complimentary phone consultation to determine if I am the right fit for you (my website and phone number are direct lines to me). I am a licensed clinical psychologist (in GA and AL, and authorized to provide telepsychology to people in 43 states) and am board-certified in Addiction Psychology. I am fortunate enough to be able to limit myself to a small caseload (< 4 clients per day, 16 max per week), which allows me to be present, engaged, and deeply invested in each client’s journey. I work primarily with postpartum/new parents, high-achievers or helping professionals (e.g., therapists, nurses, physicians, attorneys), and adults looking to explore their sexual orientation/gender identity. Helping professionals who end up in my virtual office are often dissatisfied with the standard therapeutic approaches offered to the community. They want something that goes beyond standard CBT. They are looking for a therapist who is genuine, not burned out, and is dedicated to creating an effective space for working through personal struggles and leveraging strengths. As a therapist who is also in therapy, I am passionate about treating you as the whole person that you are and have developed some tools to help you take the “helper” hat off during the therapy hour. I also work with postpartum/new parents who are struggling with the enormous transition to parenthood. We will examine what factors may be contributing to the struggle (e.g., the “village” or lackthereof, possible psychiatric diagnoses, relationship issues) and develop skills for coping with these factors. We will also do internal work that will help you feel more confident and stable in your role as a parent. I very much enjoy working with adults who are oftentimes settled into careers and relationships but have this nagging question about their identity (e.g., gender and sexual orientation). These individuals may feel like it’s “too late” or “not worth it,” but continue to ruminate about these questions and feel like they are moving through their lives with a mask on. Our work entails helping you be more authentic with yourself, and making decisions about what you want to do outside of the therapy room. This looks different for each person, and the therapy is meant to to help you discover this. Finally, if you are looking for a deep dive into your psychological functioning before starting therapy, I offer collaborative psychological assessment that identifies strengths, coping styles, and diagnoses (if present) to set a strong foundation for treatment. I utilize acceptance and commitment therapy (living flexibly in accordance with what matters to you) with psychodynamic influences (looking at unconscious influences and using the therapeutic relationship to learn about your experiences outside of therapy). I am also currently undergoing training and continued education for treatments of OCD (ERP and I-CBT) and radically open dialectical behavior therapy for perfectionists/high achievers personality types.
