About Me
Kelsey Darmochwal, LMHC, NCC, is the owner and therapist at Positive Perceptions, LLC, a Fort Wayne counseling practice specializing in neurodivergent affirming therapy for children, adolescents, adults and families.Â
She integrates CBT, DBT, EMDR, ACT and innovative approaches like the Safe and Sound Protocol to support clients navigating autism, ADHD, giftedness, twice exceptionalities, anxiety, depression, trauma and chronic health concerns. Kelsey’s mission is to provide “a different kind of counseling” for people who think and feel differently, creating a judgment free space where clients build practical coping skills and an emotional toolkit tailored to their unique needs.
Neurodivergent Affirming Therapy in Fort Wayne
Kelsey’s core focus is to help autistic, ADHD, gifted and twice-exceptional (2e) clients thrive with personalized, affirming care. As a Certified ADHD and ASD Clinical Services Provider with over 13 years of passion supporting neurodivergent individuals and families, she adapts evidence based modalities like DBT and EMDR to honor sensory differences, communication styles and authentic self expression.
Sessions emphasize skill building over masking, targeting real world challenges like emotional regulation, social communication and managing overexcitabilities. Kelsey also provides parent and caregiver support, plus couples counseling, to strengthen understanding and reduce conflict when neurodivergence impacts family dynamics.
Innovative Tools for Nervous System Regulation
Beyond traditional talk therapy, Kelsey offers the Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP), a Polyvagal informed music intervention designed to calm stress responses and improve auditory sensitivity. She also provides ketamine assisted therapy support in collaboration with a medical provider, integrating talk therapy alongside prescribed ketamine for trauma and treatment resistant conditions.
Getting Started With Care
