About Me
Katie Crosby is a licensed professional counselor and the Residential Clinical Director and the Human Trafficking Program Director at the Centers for Youth and Families. It’s based in Little Rock, Arkansas. It’s not too far from the Little Rock Racquet Club.
Neuroscience and Trauma Focused Treatment
Ms. Crosby’s therapeutic approach is based on neuroscience and trauma focused therapy. This helps integrate brain based understanding in the approach to treatment, moving children and young adults beyond survival mode. She and her team uses assessment tools to identify the effects of trauma and supervises counseling and educational approaches to heal the developmental and relational wounds caused by human trafficking.
Children & Survivors of Human Trafficking
The Centers for Youth and Families has been in operation for more than 130 years. In January 2020, the organization earned the Difference Maker award, in part because of the hard work of Ms. Crosby as the Director of the Human Trafficking Program. The award is presented to organizations that are committed to fighting violence in the community and creating a safer environment for children and families.
Under Ms. Crosby’s leadership, the Human Trafficking Program complements the continuum of services offered by the Center for Youth and Families, specializing in prevention, intervention and treatment. The team of qualified mental health professionals helps address the mental health needs of children through young adults who have been trafficked. While the program is national in scope, most of the clients live in Arkansas.
