About Me

(Please make note I am not taking any new clients at this time. )
I’m Sandra, a licensed therapist with a lifelong passion for helping people overcome challenges, build confidence, and create meaningful change. I am a mom to an adorable rescued weenie dog named Nathan, and a wife of a disabled veteran who proudly served in the Coast Guard.

My professional journey began as a horse trainer and then a teacher after earning my bachelor’s degree in education, and later expanded into counseling when I completed my master’s degree in counseling. As a former Special Education teacher and English teacher, I strongly believe that only you can write your own story — and you absolutely have the power to change it!

I’ve served as a school counselor, giving me experience working with children and teens from many different backgrounds as well as their guardians. My career has also taken me into diverse and meaningful roles, including working as a prison counselor, drug and alcohol rehab counselor, suboxone clinic therapist, crisis counselor, workforce counselor helping people find jobs, counselor for homeless veterans, and with parents and children in the foster care system. I have also provided equine-assisted psychotherapy and firmly believe in the healing connection between people and animals, including the powerful benefits of pet-assisted therapy.

My clinical experience includes supporting individuals with anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, addiction, life transitions, and a wide range of emotional and behavioral concerns. I have taught both Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) classes, and I take pride in offering a flexible, client-centered approach. As an eclectic therapist, I draw from multiple modalities—including CBT, DBT, psychodynamic therapy, humanistic therapy, interpersonal therapy, exposure therapy, and mindfulness-based practices, and more—to ensure the treatment fits your unique needs.

My goal is to meet you where you are and walk with you toward healing, growth, and emotional well-being. Whether you are young or old, navigating a crisis or simply seeking clarity and support, I look forward to helping you take the next steps in your journey—and empowering you to keep writing the story you want to live.
