Roderick Foley

I am a Director/Clinical Director, of a wellness center focused on Child, Adolescent, Family counseling and case management. I have worked in the rehabilitation industry since 1987 including operation of a multi service rehabilitation center specializing in dual diagnosis, developmental disability and Acquired Brain Injury. My scholarly focus has always centered on child/adolescent and family counseling with a specialization in multicultural and disadvantaged populations. My specific specialization is rooted in early attachment systems and theory though I am somewhat eclectic in my choice(s) of foundational theory that I employ in practice. I wrote the clinical curriculum for a Freestanding Wilderness Adventure Program for Native American Youth experiencing problems with substance abuse and addiction which included intensive family and extended family work. My practice today as a Licensed Professional Counselor in Wyoming is focused on working with children and families including Play therapy with children and adults, psycho-social group and individual therapies, couples counseling, family counseling. I have worked in and developed our agency’s Telehealth Platform since 2016 and have always felt the possibilities of reaching rural and isolated populations makes Telemedicine a perfect fit.

My counseling style is benched in person centered care. I believe the cornerstones of effective therapies begin with honesty, dignity and respect. Because of my background, diversity and cultural sensitivity are also important to the healing mission. I am goal directed in my approach to therapy combining modalities of cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, psychodynamic and rational-emotive counseling tempered with a sense of humor (laughter is the best medicine) and professionalism.
