If your toddler or preschooler’s tantrums feel way beyond the typical “terrible twos,” or their defiance, anxiety, or social struggles are starting to impact school and daily life, Anika Mullen, LPC/MHSP, CPC, LCMHCD, might be exactly what your family needs. Anika practices at eCounseling Connection, a fully virtual counseling center serving families in Nevada, Tennessee, North Carolina, and Florida from the comfort of their own homes.
A Toolkit for Neurodiverse Children
Ms. Mullen stands out for her depth of specialization in early childhood behavioral therapy. She’s been treating disruptive behavior and emotional changes in kids ages two through six since 2015. She became a certified parent-child interaction therapy (PCIT) provider in 2019.
The range of evidence-based tools Anika offers is rare among therapists. In addition to PCIT for behavioral challenges, she also provides PCIT-CALM for childhood anxiety, PCIT-ASD for children on the autism spectrum, and PCIT-CU for kids struggling with empathy and emotional literacy.
In 2026, Ms. Mullen also became certified in PEERS for preschoolers, a research-backed friendship skills program designed specifically for neurodiverse kids ages four to six with autism or ADHD.
Teletherapy for Busy Families
PCIT works by coaching caregivers, rather than just isolating the child in a therapy room. Parents leave sessions with real skills they can apply at home. Evening and Saturday slots are available, and a free consultation and “tech check” are offered before you commit to therapy.
