Colorado Springs, Colorado - Marriage And Family Therapist
Online
In Person

Welcomes to BetterHelp! My name is Malia and I am Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) licensed in Colorado and Texas. I am so glad that you made a decision to get support and guidance! Therapy can be a big decision and it requires a lot of trust and vulnerability which is why it is my goal to help you feel safe to share and be yourself. I have been practicing therapy over 12 years and specialize in working with clients on a variety of areas such anxiety, depression, addictions, self esteem, grief, relationship issues, divorce and more. In our sessions, we will focus on the individual needs of each client with compassion, patience, non-judgement and understanding. I am a strength based therapist and focus on helping client’s see that they are resilient and help them work towards a new perspective. As a LMFT, while I no longer work directly with couples or families, I do work individually with clients from a relational model where we focus on how to best support you within your relationships with yourself, your personal life and professional life. We will talk about boundaries, work/life balance, values, and communication to name a few topics. We will focus on your individual needs as they relate to your current challenges and goals and discuss the impact relationship dynamics have on you. What we know is that our daily lives are impacted by those around us in every environment. That brings both a lot of support and also challenges. We will really focus on what you can control within yourself and model healthy behavior to those around you. This work will be about you, it’s for you to be your healthiest, best self. Many other topics outside of therapy can and will be explored as they pertain to you. I use a variety of therapeutic approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) , Client Centered Therapy, Positive Psychology, IFS tools and other approaches to help find a sense of inner control over thoughts, feelings and behaviors. I am honored you chose me as your provider and if you don't mind, my animals like sitting in on sessions at times. :) I am excited to work with you!

Jenny Johnson

Colorado Springs, Colorado - Licensed Professional Counselor
Online

Hello! My name is Jenny Johnson, and I am a licensed therapist in Colorado. I work with people who are struggling with substance use or who have loved ones that are struggling with substance use and need support in coping with the suffering that the addiction crisis inflicts on families. I also work with people experiencing anxiety, depression, and/or having difficulty coping with past or current traumas. I’m committed to helping people move past feeling stuck and hopeless so they can feel and be the best version of themselves. I take the trust and responsibility of being a therapist very seriously; it is my daily intention and goal to treat my clients with respect, dignity, and empathetic understanding. I have a deep appreciation for this work. My therapeutic style is client-centered, warm, nonjudgmental, and conversational. I like to meet my clients where they are and get to know who they are, so we can come up with a plan together to bring emotional relief and retreat. I believe in treating whole people: thoughts, beliefs, emotions, experiences, patterns, and behaviors, because I have seen the connection between all of these variables, and the power in identifying these connections. I am looking forward to meeting you, and I celebrate your decision to seek help. It is a difficult thing to do, and you are already heroic and daring in your search. Self-reflection and self-exploration are the beginning of exquisite growth. “And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.” - Anais Nin
