Marriage And Family Therapist
About Me
Micah Kobayashi is a licensed marriage and family therapist who works with adolescents, adults, families, and couples around Honolulu, Hawaii.
He currently accepts patients who self pay or use HMSA insurance (HMO and PPO). Clients with other insurance providers have the option of using out of network reimbursement. Kobayashi also offers a sliding scale discount to those in financial need.
Healing Based on Emotion Focused Therapy
Kobayashi specializes in helping individuals heal through the use of emotion focused therapy. He strives to help clients build secure attachments by working through personal emotions that could be hindering their ability to connect, communicate, and attach with others.
He also specializes in working with high need families, spouses with marital issues, and emotionally reactive adolescents. He has a special focus as well on sexually abused adolescents who are coping with serious trauma.
According to Kobayashi, everyone should be “exercising” and practicing positive mental health habits to protect our mental health just like we exercise our bodies to protect our physical health.
Break Free From Ineffective Patterns and Heal in Honolulu
One of the ways Kobayashi helps clients heal is by working with them to identify ineffective patterns and habits that are holding them back. From there, he will help clients create a new, safe space to transition into becoming the best version of themselves.
